About

The Taj Hemp Wide Leg Pant is a wide-leg, mid-rise pull-on pant with an encased elastic waistband and 27-inch inseam, made from Toad&Co's lightweight, drapey "Taj Hemp" fabric. It offers a linen-like feel that is softer, more durable, and more wrinkle-resistant than linen, with inherent odor control and patched front and back pockets. The fabric is a blend of hemp, TENCEL™ Lyocell, and elastane, designed for everyday wear, travel, and casual outings.

Materials

Stretch Hemp: 54% Hemp, 44% TENCEL™ Lyocell, 2% Elastane. Forget old-school flax, this hemp and TENCEL™ Lyocell blend lifts off your body for that linen-like cooling sensation, but with better wicking, better drape and better drying. With a dash of elastane for middle-seat comfort on the road. Care Instructions: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar colors. Do not bleach. Tumble dry on low heat. Cool iron as needed.

What the brand names mean

Trademarks on a label describe the fiber, not your exposure. Here is what each one is and what it does not cover. None of it moves the score.

TENCEL™ Lyocellscored as lyocell

The spelled-out TENCEL name guarantees the closed-loop process: the solvent is non-toxic and over 99 percent of it is captured and reused instead of discharged. It is the cleanest regenerated fiber we score.

It covers the fiber, not the finished piece. Dyes and wrinkle-proof coatings go on after spinning, and that is where formaldehyde shows up. Look for OEKO-TEX on the garment too.

what it is made of

The Taj Hemp Wide Leg Pant is 54% hemp, 44% tencel lyocell, 2% elastane. Hemp is a durable plant fiber grown with little water and no need for pesticides. Tencel lyocell is a clean fiber regenerated from wood in a closed loop that reuses its solvent. That composition is what Toxome scores, and it earns 87 out of 100 on the fiber scale, where 100 is cleanest. This piece carries TENCEL, B Corp, which cover how the fiber was grown and processed, not just what it is.

FAQ

What is the Taj Hemp Wide Leg Pant made of?

It is 54% hemp, blended with 44% tencel lyocell and 2% elastane.

Is hemp safe to wear?

Hemp is a durable plant fiber grown with little water and no need for pesticides. Toxome rates every fiber on what it does to the body of the person wearing it, and publishes the reasoning rather than a badge. The score covers the fiber, not the dyes and finishes a mill adds later.

How does Toxome score clothing?

Toxome reads each garment's fiber composition and scores it on what that fiber does to your body, not on a brand's sustainability marketing. A higher score means a cleaner fiber. Composition is taken from what the brand publishes, so the score reflects the label rather than our opinion of it.
