Every piece is hand-curated by Toxome and made from cleaner, lower-toxin natural fibers. Browse by fiber to find clothing that is kinder to your skin and the planet.
heat is the one condition that makes fiber content impossible to ignore. linen moves moisture off the skin faster than any other common fabric, which is why it has been the hot-climate default for four thousand years, and polyester does the exact opposite while being the fiber most resortwear is cut from. this edit is linen, organic cotton and silk, each scored on what it is actually made of.
Linen. Its fibers are hollow and highly absorbent, so it pulls moisture off the skin and releases it into the air faster than cotton, which is why it feels cool rather than damp. Loosely woven organic cotton is a close second.
Polyester does not absorb moisture. Sweat stays on the skin instead of moving into the fabric and evaporating, so your body's main cooling mechanism is blocked. That is the clammy feeling, and it is the fiber, not the fit.
Fiber content is what touches the skin. Toxome reads each garment's composition and rates it, so the score reflects what the clothing is made of, not a brand's marketing.
