What does OEKO-TEX certified mean?

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifies that every component of a textile, the fabric, thread, buttons, and dyes, has been tested for harmful substances and stayed under strict limits. It tests the finished product, so the label reflects what actually reaches your skin.

Is OEKO-TEX certified clothing safe?

OEKO-TEX screens for over a thousand harmful chemicals, including formaldehyde, heavy metals, and restricted azo dyes, and caps them well below legal limits. No fabric is free of all chemistry, but OEKO-TEX is strong assurance the harmful ones were tested out.

Is OEKO-TEX the same as GOTS?

No. OEKO-TEX tests a finished product for harmful substances; GOTS certifies organic fibers and a clean supply chain end to end. GOTS is the broader standard, OEKO-TEX is focused on what's in the final fabric, and many garments carry both.
