about The Citizenry
The Citizenry is a Dallas-based home goods brand selling bedding, bath, rugs, pillows and furniture made in small batches with artisan partners in Portugal, Turkey, India, Peru, Japan and Afghanistan. Its bedding runs to French flax linen, organic cotton percale and gauze, and Egyptian cotton sateen; its rugs are hand-knotted and handwoven New Zealand wool. The brand says it travels to each country, works only with local materials, and sells direct with no middleman, and that pieces across the range carry OEKO-TEX, GOTS and Fair Trade certification.
certifications on these pieces
certifications are what a brand has had tested. on fibers with a cleaner way to make them, like viscose or cotton, a mark like OEKO-TEX or GOTS can lift the score. on synthetics it never does.
scores reflect the 34 The Citizenry pieces toxome has read and rated by fiber content; they are not a verdict on the whole catalog and update as we score more. some links are affiliate links. if you buy through them toxome may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and it never changes a product’s score.
